Football
Football enthusiasts from all over Scotland, and further afield, make regular pilgrimages to watch the best of Scottish football at the immortalized grounds of Ibrox and Parkhead, homes to Glasgow Rangers FC and Glasgow Celtic FC respectively now two of Europe 's leading sides.

And for a more gentle, almost nostalgic experience – a visit to Firhill, the home of immortalized Partick Thistle FC. The Great Glasgow Alternative welcome you to their online home - www.ptfc.co.uk

And don't forget a visit to the Scottish Football Museum , housed at recently totally modernized Hampden Park , home to the Scotland national team. Football trophies, memorabilia, and objects belonging to many of the greats of Scottish football are on display. Visitors are able to experience the atmosphere of the old Hampden changing room and press box, both of which have been preserved and reconstructed. There are also sound extracts, films and interactive touch screens.

Scotstoun
The track was originally a redgra one. It was upgraded to synthetic in 1996 and the track surface is blue coloured Martin ISS 2000. There is an extensive grass area next to the track with throwing facilities and a synthetic warm-up straight. The stadium has now become the premier venue in Glasgow and hosts GB international fixtures. www.runtrackdir.com

Kelvin Park Internartional Sports Arena
The Kelvin Hall was originally a venue for various exhibitions, circuses, fairgrounds & carnivals before being converted for use exclusively as a sporting arena and was opened by H.M. The Queen on 9th March 1988. It is a 5 lane, banked 200m indoor track. The lanes are alternatively coloured blue and grey. There is also a 6 lane 60m straight in the middle of the track, a warm-up track around the edge of the main track and a 40m warm-up area upstairs. Have a look at www.runtrackdir.com

Hamilton Park Races
Hamilton Park is just off the M74 which means we're so close to and easy to get to from Glasgow , but once inside it seems like a different world. Manicured lawns and leafy paddocks. Dazzling silks and powerful thoroughbreds. Come racing in 2004 and see for yourself.

Season highlights include the famous Saints & Sinners Charity Evening Meeting on Wednesday 9th June and Velvet Fair Friday Evening on 16th July. Kids are welcome anytime (and can come for free!), but our Family Day on Sunday 2nd May and Sunday Mail Family Night on Saturday 10th July are not to be missed. The season rounds off on Monday 27th September with our Festival Finale.

Golf
This year Royal Troon hosted the world famous Open Golf Championship. Glasgow 's proximity to the motorways allows you to be amongst some of the greatest links golf in Scotland along the Ayrshire coast in just over half an hour. And allows you to combine some outstanding golf with a great city experience.

Massively underestimated – and living rather in the shadow of these great Ayrshire coast links - are some truly wonderful 18 hole heathland and parkland courses in and around the city itself. ‘Must plays' include Milngavie, Killerrmont, Haggs Castle , Westerwood near Cumbernauld, Whitecraigs, East Renfrewshire and Pollok - to name but just a few.
