Walking

Glasgow is Scotland's largest city, but this bustling metropolis is within reach of some great walking country. The city itself is fascinating to explore, with its rich heritage and fascinating architecture. The Campsie and Kilpatrick Hills that rise from the cities northern fringes have always provided a rapid escape to the countryside, as does the Clyde Walkway which extends along the river and eastwards into Lanarkshire.

West of Glasgow is the spacious rolling hills of the Clyde Muirshiel Country Park and the island-spattered waters of the Firth of Clyde. Further south, Ayrshire becomes increasingly rural and has an accessible and fascinating coastline with many superb sandy beaches - as well as being the gateway to Arran
